Help stop the ABC Test from California’s disastrous AB5 law from becoming federal law next.

Contact your U.S. lawmakers

Call, email, write and tweet your U.S. lawmakers. Insist that they remove the ABC Test from federal legislation including the PRO Act. Tell them how you earn a living, and why you prefer to be an independent contractor. Attach this fact sheet to give them background details about the issue.

Get published

Write op-eds and letters to the editor in your local papers. Explain why you prefer to be self-employed, and that you want to remain self-employed.

If you are a freelance writer, then pitch articles to mainstream, trade and other publications explaining how ABC Test laws damage or destroy careers and lives in hundreds of professions.

Check out previously published op-eds and articles for ideas, and feel free to quote from these studies and polls that show the majority of freelancers and independent contractors do not want to be traditional employees.

Encourage others to join us

Tell everyone you know who gets paid on a 1099, or who pays people on a 1099, to join the fight and speak out against ABC Test laws. Lawmakers need to understand that these laws kill careers in hundreds of professions. Having their own constituents speak out is the best way to get their attention.
